Decommissioning Programme

As plans are defined, CNR International will submit Draft Decommissioning Programmes to the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED), part of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). These submissions trigger statutory and public consultations which will be conducted by CNR International alongside regulatory consultations undertaken by OPRED.

The Ninian Southern Topsides Draft Decommissioning Programme is currently the subject of a consultation which runs from 11 April to 9 May 2025. To formally comment on the proposals, please get in touch by email: carol.barbone@cnrl.com

Other decommissioning programmes, for the Ninian Southern Lower Jacket and Footings, the Ninian Central Topsides and, separately, Ninian Central’s Concrete Gravity Based Substructure will be the subject of later consultations, together with relevant supporting documents such as comparative assessment reports, environmental appraisals and stakeholder reports. These will be made available in the Documentation Library for the Ninian Hub as they are published.
