North Sea decommissioning - Ninian Northern

As a responsible operator, CNR International (U.K.) Limited (CNR International) initiated the planning for the decommissioning of the Ninian Northern Platform in the UK sector of the North Sea in 2016. These pages of the website supported the key stakeholder consultation process and kept parties informed of progress.

CNRI used the initial pre-planning time to identify the best decommissioning arrangement for the platform, balancing environmental, societal, technical, safety and economic aspects.

We consulted early, widely and transparently as part of a rigorous planning process in order to be able to propose the most appropriate decommissioning solution.

Regulatory approval of the Decommissioning Programme was granted in July 2019.
